When Chassy “Aramori” K and William “Crimzo” Hernandez jump into Marvel Rivals, they’re not just waiting in line for another game, they’re crafting a legacy. The professional esports duo, who currently play for Sentinels in Marvel Rivals, are creating one of the scene’s most interesting narratives: one of personal chemistry with professional dedication.

But this wasn’t some Cinderella story that happened overnight. Their path is marked with anxious first games, online abuse, emotional obstacles, and tedious hours of studying how to support, not only their team, but one another.

From Opposite Sidess of the Map to the Same Lobby

Aramori, a Michigan native strategist and ex-competitive singer, was introduced to gaming by her father, who had her playing World of Warcraft since she was in a high chair. Crimzo, born and bred in Toronto, was introduced to gaming at a young age by his older brother and family. He topped Call of Duty: Black Ops leaderboards at the age of 13, unwittingly setting the groundwork for a competitive career.

While their gaming origins were unique, their journeys merged in Overwatch. It was here they first started to really notice each other, not only as players, but as opponents with true potential. They started dating officially in 2019, but it wasn’t until 2020 that the in-game chemistry translated into competitive fuel.

Learning to Compete—Together

Neither began playing with the goal of going pro. “I never played games with the goal of being professional,” Crimzo says. But as he ascended Overwatch’s ranked ranks and started scrimming top 10 North American teams, the career beckoned.

Aramori’s own path involved all-female teams due to fear of toxicity, handling being underestimated in communications, and slowly making her way through Calling All Heroes, a developmental league for underrepresented players in Overwatch. “My Wikipedia is all second places,” she jokes, “but that series prepared me for Rivals. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am.

They weren’t growing up individually, they were learning to grow alongside each other. Aramori was strategic and cautious; Crimzo aggressive and natural. They fought sometimes. But rather than trying to force their hand, they learned to play off of each other’s style.mistakes. But it never took. They’d sit down after every game, tear it apart, talk about it. That was the real development.

From Overwatch to Rivals: A New Chapter

Crimzo wasn’t convinced about Marvel Rivals at first. I was still playing in Overwatch. I didn’t think it was my thing,” he admits. But Aramori talked him into substituting into a scrim block. That single stint was enough. It wasn’t long before Crimzo became a permanent fixture on the team. He applied Overwatch-refined communication and organization to a growing team, whereas Aramori had already spearheaded the Sentinels to a runaway tournament victory, unbeaten, without losing a single map.

Now, both of them are gearing up for The Ignite Series, the largest competition Marvel Rivals has ever had, with a $3 million prize pool.

Family, Struggles, and Everything In Between

Support systems have been crucial. Crimzo’s parents were chill about his gaming career, his dad is even an active viewer in his Twitch streams. Aramori’s path was rockier, filled with moments of self-doubt and community bias. She remembers crying after lobbies turned toxic, with Crimzo always there to back her up, even if he was half-watching TV at the time. “He’s always been super supportive. Through everything.”

Looking Ahead

So what’s next? Aramori would like to compete on stage, something Crimzo has done and she has not. Both want Marvel Rivals to be successful, not only for themselves, but for the broader competitive community and the very supportive Sentinels fanbase.

Final Words

Aramori and Crimzo are not merely another pro duo. They’re living proof that love, when based on communication, trust, and a common goal, can be a winning formula. Their path isn’t flawless, but it’s authentic, and in a world that too often revolves around stats and screens, that makes them something of a rare breed in esports: human.

Hosting the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) in Riyadh tourism did not come as a coincidence in Saudi Arabia. Funded by the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), which in turn is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), EWC 2025 boasts a staggering prize pool of over $70 million—the largest in esports history.. It is no longer a championship. It is a statement.

They intend to build Riyadh as a competitive gaming destination stop. And, according to what happened in EWC 2024, this move is already paying off.

EWC 2024 Was Just the Start, and Saudi Stole the Show

Last year, the numbers went through the roof. In excess of 500 million viewers tuned in online, with over 2.6 million fans showing up in person in Riyadh. These statistics made EWC 2024 the most-watched esports event of the year.

And Saudi Arabia’s presence? Team Falcons, based in Riyadh, ended up as the top-scoring team of the whole tournament. They even won the $7 million Club Championship, handed over by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman himself. This wasn’t just about a trophy. This was about showing the world: We’re here to lead.

Saudi Arabia’s Bigger Goal, Vision 2030 Through Esports

This is not a hype-generated investment. It’s all part of the kingdom’s larger Vision 2030 strategy. Saudi Arabia, by its Savvy Games Group (also PIF-owned), invested close to USD 38 billion into gaming and esports.

Here’s what the Vision entails:

  • Development of 250 game development firms within Saudi Arabia
  • 39,000+ new gaming industry jobs
  • Adding 50 billion SAR to Saudi GDP through gaming
  • Transforming the nation into an “international hub” of video game production and esports

The Support Behind It All

Saudi Arabia isn’t just putting on flashy events and calling it a day. Behind the scenes, it’s building long-term systems—like the $20 million Club Support Program, which helps teams grow sustainably.

As the EWCF CEO pointed out, this isn’t about short bursts of hype. It’s about lasting impact. The goal is to build something that survives beyond the headlines—a real, stable ecosystem.

What’s So Different About Saudi Arabia’s Esports Game Plan?

Entertaining Party Fun as never before
EWC 2025 is more than just another esports tournament. The atmosphere, the scale, the prize pool—everything is designed to wow. But it’s not just money being thrown around aimlessly. There’s strategy behind the spectacle.

The Numbers? Insane
The precedent was 2024 when the EWC brought in online viewers of more than 500 million. And two point six million individuals did go there like physically.

Big Bucks, Big Time
The Public Investment Fund and Savvy Games Group of Saudi Arabia have already injected in like $38 billion into the video gaming market. That is not a small amount, really!

Assisting the Clubs As Well
It is not only all about the players. There is this $ 20 million club support program that makes sure that groups of teams are becoming big and staying powerful rather than individuals.

The publishers are all in.
Saudi Arabia does not take a safe bet with one or two partners in mind. They made deals in progress with such giants as Activision, Riot, Capcom, and so on.

So, Who Wins EWC 2025?

So, Who Wins EWC 2025?
Image via Esports World Club

Sure, maybe a Saudi team doesn’t end up lifting the biggest trophy. But truth is, Saudi Arabia’s already won in a much bigger way. They’ve somehow, pretty quickly, turned Riyadh into the place for esports. Like, it actually happened faster than most people thought possible. According to what the Crown Prince had said, the goal behind all this was to turn the passion of the younger generation into something real, something industry-grade. And yeah, that vision is kinda happening right in front of us.

They won’t win every match, sure. But if we’re talking about the larger competition, about who’s creating the most momentum in esports, then Saudi Arabia is already out front, and they’re not slowing down.

Riyadh Esports World Cup 2025 is developing to form the biggest gaming event in the world this year. The total amount of the prize pool is more than $70 million, and several of the biggest names were present (Ronaldo would even attend), so the hype is very much real. However, despite the number of titles which are highlighted there, not all of them are being given an equal kind of attention.

We have examined hard confirmed sightings records, online viewership, social media and some fan buzz. This is the way the official games put in rank in regard to real impact rather than sound.

Top Tier: The Crowd Pullers

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

This one is far ahead. MLBB was the most viewed game last year, with a peak of 2.38 million viewers concurrently. The men’s tournament rules, particularly in Southeast Asia, where it’s more or less a religion. The women’s MLBB event performed well too, approximately 265K peak, which isn’t an easy task.

League of Legends

LoL doesn’t even need an intro. And this time at EWC, Riot’s golden child pulled about 1.10 million peak viewers. Not the highest, but extremely steady and global. Doesn’t matter if you’re in Korea, Europe, or Brazil, League’s pulling numbers.

Dota 2: Riyadh Masters

Legendary title. Riyadh Masters of Dota 2 reached 419K peak viewership, supported by $3M prize pool and the appearance of all major teams. Even though the game is old, the fans continue to come in large numbers.

Honor of Kings

Perhaps not a Westerner’s favorite, but don’t discount this one. HoK from Tencent achieved around 481K peak, led by China and the SEA regions. With Tencent driving global development, the figure may increase next year.

Counter-Strike 2

It’s CS, but newer. CS2 at last year’s EWC peaked at about 756K. Doesn’t set records, but steady as always. And with recent updates and new skins hype, it’s not going to slow down anytime soon.

VALORANT

Unexpectedly strong buzz on its inaugural EWC outing. No final numbers as of yet, but by Esports Charts’ projections, its EWC 2025 peak could even reach 1 million. Riot’s second horse is moving fast.

Mid Tier: Dominant But Not Unbeatable

PUBG Mobile

Large in India, SEA, MENA, and is still driving large viewership. Last year’s 566K high was no laughing matter. The mobile battle royale audience is surely dedicated.

Free Fire

Garena’s Free Fire continues to attract regional focus, particularly Latin America and parts of Asia. Hit 471K high at last EWC. Not glitzy but reliable.

Apex Legends

It’s lost some steam out in the West, but Apex still had a good EWC run. Pulled around 219K peak viewers. Not revolutionary, but good enough to remain relevant.

Street Fighter 6

The top-performing fighter at EWC. SF6 peaked at around 155K viewers, which is a respectable number given how niche the genre tends to be.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone

These two fared fine. Viewership remained below 150K, and hype wasn’t as great as anticipated. Nonetheless, dedicated CoD players were there.

Overwatch 2

Blizzard’s ailing shooter did around 100K peak (using past EWC data). It’s falling behind but still clinging on. Barely.

Niche and Side Titles: Good, But Low Viewership

Teamfight Tactics

Fun to watch, not so much a significant viewing event. TFT reached only 35K at peak. Slow but strategic, hence not good for mass viewing.

EA Sports FC 25

The FIFA replacement attended EWC, but couldn’t repeat the glory. <110K viewers. Football may be huge, but digital football is not so this year.

Rocket League

Sweet, messy, but failed to cut through the noise. Marginally over 100K, not more.

Tekken 8 & R6 Siege

Both sat around 60K to 100K peak. Tekken had a decent offline, but online buzz wasn’t quite there. Rainbow Six? Pretty much the same thing.

Rennsport

The sim-racing game is highly niche. Data from last year demonstrates that it peaked in the low thousands. More of a specialty interest rather than mass entertainment.

Chess

Yes, there is chess. It’s having a gradual digital resurgence with younger viewers. But still early days. Viewership yet to breach significant thresholds.

Final Thoughts

In order to keep it really short and facts based, the blue-chips in terms of real viewership are Mobile Legends, League, Dota 2, and VALORANT/CS2. In the middle, stable but not viral, PUBG Mobile, Apex and SF6. What of the rest? They are local or micro. Therefore, in the event that you are after numbers and buzz, pursue the MOBAs and shooters. There the pulse of the EWC will be strongest at 2025.
