Roger Federer, a tennis legend widely regarded as one of the best players in history, was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. The inductee announcement is a testament to the impact he made with his game, and the official event is scheduled in Newport, Rhode Island from August 27, 29, 2026.

A Historic Achievement

Federer’s induction to the Hall of Fame was an eventual but still impressive moment. For the 2026 class, he was the only player to secure the highest number of votes. His career’s packed with the achievement of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, thereby making him the first male player to reach this landmark. Besides Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, Federer was the mainstay of a golden era of tennis that captivated the whole world. He won for the first time at Wimbledon in 2003, and in 2009 he made history by winning his 15th major at Wimbledon after an epic final against Andy Roddick thus surpassing Pete Sampras’ record.
