Journey From India to the USA

Harmeet Singh Baddhan’s journey started in Mumbai, India where he was a budding left, arm spinner featured in India’s age group cricket teams. Yet, after his relocation to the States and his qualification through residency, he started his stint with the USA national cricket team from the year 2024.

His decision to move didn’t come easy during the COVID, 19 waves, Harmeet lost his chance to say the final goodbye to his mother due to the funeral restrictions after moving away, and switching to American cricket meant giving up the comfort of the known cricket structures at home. However, even with all these personal woes, he didn’t waver in his determination to take his cricket career to a foreign land.

USA World Cup Squad and Second T20 World Cup

His choice is the continuation of a pattern where players initially represented age, group or domestic sides in India and then switched to the USA cricket system. Just like other seasoned cricketers such as Milind Kumar and Saurabh Netravalkar, Harmeet adds a good mix of experience to the USA side at this major tournament.

Performance and Role for USA

Harmeet has been a key player for the USA across all formats ever since he got qualified for the team. In fact, he has delivered some of the finest bowling performances such as 6/27 in an ODI for the USA in the Cricket World Cup League 2, proving that his bowling can be a game, changer.
