The India U19 vs Pakistan U19 match at the final of the Under, 19 Asia Cup in Dubai was turning out to be the match everyone desired. However, it also got a lot more one, sided than people had anticipated. The rivalry itself is very intense, and here both teams had different strengths and also some obvious nerves that could somehow be felt. The final was at the ICC Academy Ground, which generally supports both batters and bowlers equally, so the expectation was of a balanced contest, but the match didn’t completely go in that direction.

Road to the final and teams’ strengths

India went to the final after winning all their matches. They had earlier defeated Pakistan very convincingly in the group stage and finished on top of Group A. Their batting depth appeared to be very strong and almost too calm for the situation at times, with players like Ayush Mhatre, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, and Kanishk Chouhan forming the backbone. Many people thought their consistency would again be their strength because, before the final, they were almost simply cruising through the tournament.

Pakistan got off to a good start and ended up scoring 347 for 8 which is, to be honest, an enormous total in the final of a youth tournament. Sameer Minhas was one of those players whose innings kind of changed the whole atmosphere of the match: 172 off 113 balls. The Indian bowlers were simply not able to dislodge him and their attack suddenly appeared to be weaker than before, which most of the people had not anticipated at this stage.

What the result means going forward

Consequently, Pakistan took home the big trophy, their first Under, 19 Asia Cup win outright after a share once. India, on the other hand, despite this heavy defeat, still displayed a strong bench of youngsters throughout the tournament. Such games are getting both teams ready for bigger stages like the upcoming Under, 19 World Cup, although the takeaways are coming in a tougher and slightly less comfortable manner than anyone would have expected.

The India Women versus Pakistan Women Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 encounter was filled with mixed emotions, tension, and a bit of chaos. Played at the R. Premadasa Stadium, the match once again reflected India’s clear superiority over their opponents as they wrapped up a solid victory, although the game saw its own quota of strange moments and mini-dramas.

The Setting and Pre-Match Tension

As soon as India and Pakistan were on the field, even prior to the start of the match, the air was already heavy. The game was held this time in Sri Lanka, as Pakistan’s games are now being hosted there rather than India. The pre-game hype was intense, with both teams serious, knowing that this confrontation always had more to do than points on the board.

India’s Innings: Steady Yet Uneasy

India was able to score 247 in 50 overs, a tally that seemed acceptable given the challenging wicket. Nobody had a large fifty, but modest contributions kept the scoreboard ticking along all the time.

Harleen Deol was the best scorer, scoring 46 off 65 deliveries. Harleen played steadily, playing well within herself as wickets fell around her despite the fact that it was a fairly pacy track. Others came and departed, but the knock by Harleen provided the backbone to India to establish something to compete with.

Pakistan’s Chase: Collapse and Confusion

Pakistan’s response began badly and never really recovered. The Indian bowlers pitched their lengths to perfection, leaving Pakistan at 26 for 3 early in the innings.

Sidra Amin’s Lone Resistance

Sidra Amin attempted to stabilize and battled with determination, making 81 runs, but there was little assistance at the other end. As soon as she got out, things started disintegrating fast. Pakistan were bowled out for 159 in 43 overs, losing by 88 runs.

Beyond Cricket: Symbolism and Impact

This competition once again demonstrated the ways in which cricket in South Asia tends to reflect more than sport. Having Pakistan play its games in Colombo rather than India explained how delicate things remain. Even trivial things such as no handshakes or disputed decisions seemed to resonate with greater realities off the field.

Nevertheless, India played the game professionally, maintaining their concentration when the chips were down. Such performances not only serve in tournaments but also serve to promote women’s cricket throughout the continent. Such matches may be tight, but they keep propelling the sport’s development and relevance even further.

A controversial yet historic Asia Cup 2025 has ended with India becoming champions for the 9th title. They defeated arch-rivals in the final by 5 wickets. The Asia Cup 2025 featured three blockbuster matches of India vs Pakistan, and each one was filled with on-field and off-field drama. Whether it was India’s refusal to shake hands, Pakistani players’ controversial gestures towards Indian fans, verbal exchanges on the field, or the PCB chairman running away with the trophy, fans will always remember this edition of the Asia Cup played in the UAE. In this article, we are going to cover everything that happened during the India vs Pakistan matches, both on the field and off the field.

India vs Pakistan: A Controversial League Stage Drama, Boycott Calls and Heated Start

After the recent India-Pakistan conflict following the Pahalgam terror attack, followed by Operation Sindoor, the Indians boycotted the first match between India and Pakistan at the Asia Cup 2025 Group Stage. Despite this response from fans, the match happened, and India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets thanks to amazing performances by Suryakumar Yadav and Kuldeep Yadav.

The real drama started after Surya hit the winning six, and then he directly walked back to the dressing room with Shivam Dube without shaking hands with the Pakistan players. This created a lot of tension off the field, and in response, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha skipped the post-match press conference. Instead, PAK sent their coach to face reporters. The coach, Mike Hesson, criticized the Indian team for not shaking hands and disrespecting the spirit of the game.

In the same press conference, a reporter asked Surya, and he said, “We are aligned with BCCI and the government. We stand by the victims of the families of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate this win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery.” PCB reported ICC over the handshake and Surya’s statement in the conference. Pakistan also accusedAndy Pycroft, saying he told the teams not to shake hands, and demanded Pycroft’s removal from their next game, which was against the UAE.

Pakistan threatened to boycott the match if the ICC did not remove Andy Pycroft from their game. The team does not reach the ground on time, but the ICC does not take any action against the referee. At the end, PCB said Pycroft apologized for his actions, and the Pakistan vs UAE match started after around 2 hours of delay. Notably, the apology did not come publicly, and Andy Pycroft remained the referee for the game.

Second Clash: Gestures, Fines, and On-Field Tensions

India vs Pakistan, the second game played in the Super Four stage, where again India dominated Pakistan by defeating them by 6 wickets thanks to an oustanding batting display from Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. During the match, a lot of words were exchanged between the bowlers and the Indian batters. Notably, Indian batters destroyed the bowling of Pakistan in the match.

In the first inning, Sahibzada Farhan scored a fifty and did the AK-47 celebration, which did not sit well with fans. While fielding at the boundary, Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf did the gestures to the Indian fans of the plane crash, mimicking the unproven Indian fighter jets shot down during Operation Sindoor.

After the match, the BCCI lodged a complaint against Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf for their controversial gesture in the match. In response, PCB also filed a complaint against Suryakumar Yadav for his press conference statements after the first India-Pakistan game in the group stage of the Asia Cup 2025.

According to the reports, ICC fined both Sahibzada Farhan and Haris Rauf. Also, reports suggest that the ICC deducted 30% matching fees from Suryakumar Yadav.

The Historic Final: A First in 41 Years

For the first time in the history of the tournament, India and Pakistan face each other in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. This game also featured a lot of controversies. First, for both captains, there were two hosts present at the toss. This happened for the first time in the history of the game. In the match, Pakistan put up a total of 146 runs while batting first. India struggled at the start, but thanks to a calm and composed inning of 69 unbeaten runs by Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube’s attacking knock, India won the final by 5 wickets.

https://twitter.com/Rajiv1841/status/1972406318599463342

After the game, both teams did not shake hands for the third time in a row. Also in the match, Jasprit Bumrah gives a plane crash send-off to Haris Rauf after knocking his stumps down with a yorker. The real drama happened when India refused to take the trophy from the hands of PCB and ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, and he ran away with the trophy in anger. So India celebrated their win without the trophy, and the video of the unique trophy celebration without the trophy went viral.

After the match, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “#OperationSindoor on the game field. The outcome is the same—India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.” Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav also announced that he is going to donate all his Asia Cup 2025 match fees to the Indian Armed Forces and the families affected by the Pahalgam terror attack. This is how a historic and controversial Asia Cup 2025 ended. Now both teams will face each other in the ICC T20I World Cup 2026.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have put a official complain to the International Cricket Council (ICC) against Pakistan cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for what it say was provoking on-field gesture during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 match on 21 September.

Incident During the Match

As per match video and many reports, Sahibzada Farhan celebrate his half-century by doing a gun-shot style action with his bat. Haris Rauf later make a gesture that look like a plane crashing and also show a “6-0” sign with his fingers while reacting to chant from Indian supporters. Many people take these actions as political taunt, which only make the high-stake India–Pakistan game more tense.

BCCI’s Action

BCCI has give video proof to ICC and match referee Andy Pycroft, asking for strict step under the ICC Code of Conduct. If the players deny or contest the complain, the issue could go to a formal hearing that may end with fine, warning, or suspension depend on what the referee decide.

Pakistan’s Counter-Complaint

Soon after, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) put a counter complain against Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav. PCB claim Yadav’s earlier post-match words, where he dedicate the win to victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and mention “Operation Sindoor”, brought political tone which is not suitable in cricket and break ICC’s rule to keep game free from politics.

Broader Implications

This complain and counter complain show how delicate the cricket relation between India and Pakistan stays, where even simple on-field celebration or post-match talk can become political meaning. Whatever ICC decide will set a kind of example for future match, maybe leading to more strict guide about how players celebrate or speak in public.

Both cricket boards now wait for ICC to review. The decision will not only tell if the players face punishment but also might affect how future India–Pakistan clashes be manage so the sport keep focus on fair play and professionalism.
