The International Cricket Council (ICC) has provisionally barred USA batter Aaron Jones from all forms of cricket after charging him with multiple breaches of anti, corruption codes that arose from his alleged involvement in match, fixing during the BIM10 League held in Barbados in the 2023, 24 season. Aaron Jones has been put on a formal disciplinary process, and he has 14 days from January 28, 2026, to reply to the charges.
The charges brought against Jones are under both the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Anti, Corruption Code and the anti, corruption rules used by the ICC. A major part of the accusations against him is that he was involved in fixing or trying to improperly influence by cheating the matches of the Bim10 tournament, which is a local Barbados T10 competition. Since it is a league under the CWI’s control, it is only natural that some of the charges brought against him make use of the ICC’s anti, corruption Code and refer to international matches.
Details of the Charges
In a statement issued by the ICC, it was revealed that Jones has been accused of five breaches of anti, corruption rules:
- Attempting to fix, contrive or improperly influence match outcomes or conduct in the Bim10 tournament in 2023-24.
- Failing to disclose details of approaches or invitations to engage in corrupt conduct to the relevant authorities.
- Failing or refusing to cooperate with a reasonable investigation led by anti-corruption officials.

Implications for USA CricketThe provisional suspension represents a major blow for USA Cricket as it deprives the team of one of their most seasoned batsmen, at least for the time being, while the anti, corruption case is in progress. If through the disciplinary proceedings Jones is declared guilty, a long, term ban or permanent banishment from professional cricket may be the consequences, thus highlighting the ICC’s firm position against corruption and match, fixing.
